Memtest86 is a complete, stand alone memory test for x86 architecture computers. BIOS based memory tests quick, cursory check and often miss many failures detected by memtest86.
By Chris Brady in 1994, the first version of memtest86 is developed. However, the test algorithms used since 1981 and has been previously provided on December PDP-11, has been under development VAX-11/780 and Cray XMP architectures. Development and distribution of memtest86 and no longer funded BradyTech Inc. supported by
memtest86 GNU General Public License (GPL) was released under the terms. Memtest86 can now download free 3.4.
